I'm considering getting an eMac for home, and have been reading thru the posts on the noise issue. I have a 733 MHz Quicksilver here at work which I consider to be pretty loud. I'm wondering if the new eMac noise is comparable. Can anyone comment?

I've heard that the noise levels of the latest eMac have improved since the release of my noisy 1st gen eMac (which is still noticeably quieter than the Quicksilver machines). The eMac's fan noise may bother you in a very quiet room, but it won't be terribly noticeable in a room of 'average' ambient sound.

Thanks for the reply. As long as it's "noticeably quieter than the Quicksilver machines" I think I'll be OK with it.

QSes are annoyingly loud, the emac is a bit more um.. passive.
