I just picked up a set of the Logitech Z-680s for my G5 and they kick ass for iTunes and DVDs. What I can't figure out is how to reliably get other system sounds out of the speakers. For some reason when I play iTunes it comes out both the internal speaker and the Z-680s. iChat and Safari work the same. However, I don't get any sound when Mail comes into the Mail.app. or with any Finder sounds (like emptying the trash, dock poofs, etc.)

What gives?!?

did you select the sound output in the sound preferences?

I tried that but it didn't seem to make a difference. However a restart cured it. Thanks for the reply.
