so i have noticed a slow down in my mac as of late, would a de-fragment help? and of so how can i do this?

If your Mac can boot into OS9, then PlusOptimizer is much cheaper at $29.

Reader50, I guess you missed the memo? The one that explains that for the vast majority of people, defragmenting is a waste of time, and an unnecessary hazard to data: Optimizing Disks Is a Waste of Time.

A good system clean up may do the trick...

Run all the tidying up scripts in Cocktail or Macaroni, fix permissions, sort out any rubbish you may have on the HD etc etc

If not, you could try an archive install...
