Should the iMac get updated to a G5.

Do you think the eMac will also be updated or will it stay as the only G4 desktop?

Personally, I think these are silly questions. The only reason the iMac would not be updated to a G5 is if the iMac line were discontinued.

The eMac will permanently have a G4 in it... even when the iBook has a G6 processor in it.

Personally, I think those are silly answers. Do you have inside information on Apple permanently keeping the eMac as a G4? Do you really believe that Motorola is going to keep making a G4 just for Apple, while other technology moves ahead? Do you work for Apple? If not, you don't know.

The eMac probably won't have a G5 for awhile - heat isn't as much of an issue, but cost and positioning are. The eMac has to be as cheap as Apple can justify making it, and also has to have some kind of clear separation in the product matrix. The only reason the iMac is actually slower than the eMac right now is because it's the last Mac in the lineup that hasn't been updated yet this year.
