Whenever I insert a DVD, it just sits in the tray for a little while and then ejects. Why won't it play?

You might want to try cleaning the drive. Is the iMac still under Applecare? There is a possibility that the drive has gone bad. Have you tried rebooting? Will it read a CD? What does the System Profiler say about the drive? Is is being recognized?

The drive is being recognized, and reading CDs just fine. The only aspect of the drive that's giving me trouble is reading DVDs.
