Anyone know if the Xserve G4 will work with any Radeon 8500 assuming that I already have the AGP riser board? Or, did Apple do something to the video card to make it work?

Help!

Thanks.

I believe the Xserve lacks an AGP slot. PCI only.

The Xserve G4 had an AGP option...it was an AGP riser card that came off of the PCI slot closest to the PSU. You could get a Radeon 8500 as a video option.

Unfortunately, I can't get a straight answer from Apple with regard to the Radeon 8500 and whether an "of-the-shelf" video card will work on the AGP riser.

Thanks.

For the sake of documentation:

I've found out the it just has to be the Radeon 8500 Mac version, not one specific to the Xserve.
