I ordered a new DP 1.8 G5 with an ATI 9600 on june 9th. It was supposed to ship by the 16th but today i get an email saying its been bumped back to ship by the 28th. If i would have got a stock machine i would probably have it by now. Anyone know if you can add upgrades (like the bluetooth module) and not get bumped back further?

It depends on the status... if they haven't touched it yet (pre-"in assembly", I think), it won't make them treat your order as if you placed it now instead of two weeks ago. You should get it the same time as someone who ordered the exact same configuration on June 9th and then left it.

However, it's been awhile since I got a new machine. You might want to ask Apple to confirm.

Dave, my BTO 2.0 was "pushed back" but shipped 1 day after the email. I'm sure yours will ship soon! I'm from Sac too, BTW!

Got notice the computer was shipping yesterday (sunday). Its coming from the Elk Grove warehouse so i should get it soon since its only about a 15 minute drive away. I hope they deliver it today (monday).
So it shipped 8 days earlier than the revised shipping date (which was the 28th).

sacto rules!

They upgraded my shipping to 2Day Fedex. Does your tracking # work yet? Given we are both 15 min from their Elk Grove facility, we should get them soon! It's nice to see other Sac mac users.

Hey, maybe they are making you wait because there is some university somewhere that is getting first dibs?

Probably not.

Anyway, enjoy your G5 when you get it.

I order the new G5 1.8GHz today and will arrive tomorrow. I got a nice deal from my friend who work for an authorized Apple dealer. I was gonna order the G5 2.0GHz, but I didn't think I need the PCI-X and I won't ever use 8GB of ram.
