We have 2 Slot loading iMacs , a 450 DV and a 500 DV SE. Both have 10.2.8 on them and both seem to have a "wave" or flicker in the screen in OS X at 1024x768. It does not seem to do this in OS 9 and I cant notice it when it is in lower resolutions.
It seems to happen when there is some sort of disk activity.

Does anyone else notice this? Is this a known problem?

Thanks,
ac

Are these computers near any kind of oscillating electrical current, e.g., a desktop fan or some such? I have a slot-loading 600 Mhz iMac at work that got a really wavy screen when I attempted to move a small desktop fan next to it.

yep, I've seen that too, on a bondi when I installed panther - fine at 800x600 but wavy lines at 1024 x 768. It went away when I increased the base vram from 2mb to 6mb.
