The old 17" is still $699.00. What happened? Isn't $1300 too much for a 20" display? I'm frustrated.

The 17 really could be cheaper, but from what I understand the price of larger panels has not come down. I wonder if Apple planned to release these a year ago with the G5s but they were too expensive, decided to wait to see if the price of components dropped, and finally just decided to get them out the door.
I don't much care for the looks either, but they do address some of the biggest complaints I've heard: bezel too thick, not adjustable enough, don't match the G5s. The loss of ADC is a negative for me; a one-cable system is a godsend in an office where you have to administer lots of machines.

I purchased an ACD 20" a couple of months ago. After looking at these new ones I don't regret my purchase one bit. Other than the two firewire ports (which really only give me one more), I don't care much for the new displays, they look quite boring. Bezel thickness is a non-factor for me, but the adjustability is another improvement since it downright blows on the last ones. I wonder what the specs are, they don't bother to mention anything about performance on the website.

This discussion probably should in the Peripherals. There's a thread there already.

I am guessing they will look better in person.
