I have had my dual 2 GHz rev B for about 3 weeks now and I am convinced there's something wrong with the fans in this go around. The computer's fans will go to full blast for seemingly no reason. Having seven fans spin at full blast is annoyingly loud. It also makes me extremely nervous to think that my $2500 investment might be overheating. Can anyone else with a Rev. B comment on their experience? Is this unique to my unit? Did I get a lemon? The constant maxing out of fans scares me into thinking my computer could suffer a premature life.

The question is do the rev back down? My Dual B 2 Hz revs up and down, system load dependent. If I give it a long high CPU job they will get fairly noisy, but nowhere the level they are in Firewire Target Disk Mode.

Zap your PRAM, if the problem persists call Apple.

How does one zap their PRAM, and can anyone clarify exactly what this does?

You either pay for the phone call or bring the computer in for repair at an authorized apple dealer.

I've only tried calling apple once with one of my macs, and I think they will ask for a CC. Not sure, I haven't done it in years.
