I may get a bonus in August. My dilema is should I get a Powerbook or a Power Mac? I have an eMac now and I always wanted a Pro machine. I don't really need the speed but I have always had a Mac that you cannot really upgrade. Would I be happy with the low end Power Mac. What is a good CRT monitor I can use with one until I
could afford one of Apple's flat panels?

Of course if there is no bonus then this is a moot question.

You'll get more bang for your buck with a PowerMac at the moment.
As long as you order a card with VGA, then any old CRT should do as a stopgap. (If you get a crappy old one, it'll save you money, and simultaneously motivate you to save for a better one!)
