First off, how come there's no hardware forum for older Macs? Where are threads like this supposed to go. Knowing this place as I do, I'm sure where ever i put it, its the wrong place.

But, to the real question. I have said performa running yellowdog linux acting as a very important database. But I can't seem to figure out how to make it auto reboot after a power failure. I only have 8.0 installed and the one related control panel won't open "on this machine". Is there anyway to make this machine reboot like that? If I upgrade to any specific versions of OS 9, will that assist me? OK Thanks for the help...

FYI, 1008com: Classic Macs and Mac OS
Discussion and support of Mac OS 9 or older as well as older Mac hardware (pre-G3).

I don't know how much support you'd get in that forum, though. In any case, I don't know how you would set that variable in Linux but it was accessible from the Energy Saver CP in Mac OS 8/9.
