Hi,

I recently bought some Verbatim 4x DVD-R discs for my Superdrive in my iMac 17" from 2002 - but they just click as if they are incompatible with Mac !?

Can someone lead me to an answer to this? I already opened all the of the package to check out all the discs. So a refund if impossible.

And, can someone tell me a good DVD-R brand(other than Apple's)?

The 2002 iMacs came with 2x Superdrives. So technically, your 4x DVD-Rs should work, but only at 1x, and only if you've downloaded the Superdrive firmware update. You might be having that problem if you haven't applied the update.

Try looking at www.apple.com/support for "superdrive update" and you'll probably find it. Try to install it, and it'll let you know if you need to or not.

Thank you. Although I made a mistake in my first post. They are not DVD-R but DVD+R - I did not notice until just now(although it says it in big letters on the front)

AFAIK, DVD+R discs won't work in your iMac.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?
