So I just bought a Quicksilver 2001 off ebay to upgrade my B&W. I had a 60 gb drive in the B&W which I moved to the G4. I was stupid about it, which means I didn't back anything up, and just booted the G4 off the drive. About 3 hours after use, the G4 crashes and the drive wont boot. I have a lot of files I want off the HD, mostly music I don't want to download again. I've tried TechTool Deluxe, DiskWarrior and Disk Utility, nothing works. TechTool and DiskWarrior say it has something to do with the catalogue. Am I screwed?

Perhaps people are avoiding helping for specific reasons. Happy downloads.

If you're implying these things are illegally downloaded, I can assure you they're not. I legally own TechTool and DiskWarrior. And as I just found out, I can't re-download songs from the iTunes music store (which is weird, because I paid for that ****). Granted, I do have a lot of downloaded music, but I don't even care about that, I just want my preferences, apps and documents back. Any help...

If you lose your iTunes Music Store purchased library, they will allow you to re-download. Go to the following URL, scroll down, fill out the form and explain the situation.

http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/download.html

As far as your HDD problem is concerned -- sounds like you're out of luck if TTP and DW can't fix anything, since those apps are best in class. Also, since it's a 2001 Quicksilver the HDD is most likely an IBM DeskStar, which case I would certainly take this opportunity to completely replace it as these drives have a horrible failure rate.
