I've just recently received a new Dual processor G5 Xserve where I work, in addition to a number of existing G4 Xserves that I already administer.

The old G4 Xserves have built in video and can be used with an in-rack KVM for some tasks where Apple Remote Desktop or command line aren't the the best solutions (ie sometime inital config is just easiest to directly on the machine or if it isn't booting correctly pre network initialization).

The new G5 that has just been delivered does not have a video card as part of the standard specs, instead its listed as a BTO option. The BTO option doesn't cost a whole lot, but as I only want to do very simple tasks with it such as see what its doing on boot, run disk util, and possibly server assistant, I only need very basic video.

I have a spare ATI Rage 128 16MB PCI card out of a Blue and White G3 (it has ample power for what I need), can I install and use this card in a 2.0GHz G5 Dual processor Xserve running OS X Server 10.3.4?

I've searched around and found a semi-relevant article on the apple
