Hey,

Is the eMac's video card upgradable at all or is it bolted on the motherboard with no upgrade possibility?

I just bought a new 1.25Ghz eMac and can certainly live with the 32MB VRAM available, it's plenty for my needs right now. But upgrading it to 64MB eventually might be something I'd consider...

What's the verdict? Am I screwed?

Thanks!!!

No can do.. Pretty much everything is all welded down to the same motherboard.
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

It's soldered on to the mainboard, so unfortunately you're going to keep using that so long as you have that eMac. However, Macs (even eMacs) tend to have a fairly high resale value, so you could theoretically upgrade to a whole new eMac for relatively little.

My opinion is that unless you're a serious gamer or 3D content creator, the video an eMac comes with will probably be fine for most (if not all) of the life of the system.

It's soldered on, but it's a big improvement over the intergrated graphics on similar PCs. You can't upgrade them either.
