QS2K2 with 1.5GB RAM, 10.3.5. 250MB Zip drive

Attempting to empty the trash after dragging items from 100MB zip disk to trash resulted in a lockup. Powered down. Restarted.

After Restart, Zip disk in drive does not show as loaded. Also, the More Info button from About this mac is greyed out. I can however launch System Profiler from the Finder and it reports the Zip disk as being 98MB which is approx correct.

1. Anyone know how I can eject the Zip disk/get the system to see it without opening the case? I don't have a problem with ejecting by hand but the cause is what i'm after.

****LATER**** - Booted into OS9 and ejected from the Finder. Wonder why OS X would not show the inserted disk?

2. Any ideas on why More Info is greyed out?

****LATER**** - System Profiler is now crashing out with a "KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE" msg. The Zip crash and the Java/Isync update is all that occurred today.

***MuchLater*** - Used Disk Utility to repair permissions. Rebooted twice and exported the System Profile report. More Info button now useable. Weird.

Software Update reports me as being up to date on everything as of 8/11/04 this AM.

TIA.

Maybe repairing permissions is the key. I always repair permissions after any update.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Agreed, repair permissions after each OS upgrade.

Also, I'd recommend running a Disk Utility repair on the Zip disk. FSCK is run automatically on bootup, but I believe it only checks the startup partition.
