After a lot of searching I still do not understand PCI-X slots in my G5 SP 1.8. Can I buy any MacOS compatible PCI Firewire card (Lacie/iogear/Belkin) for my G5? OR is it easier/cheaper/faster to just buy a Firewire hub?
Thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions.

I have the IOGear GIC430F and it's been running fine for the 2 weeks I've had it installed. I have the iSight and iPod hooked up to it. I've heard about the G5 not entering deep sleep with the firewire cards installed but I never sleep my computer so that wasn't a concern for me. Before I got this card I tried 3 different USB2/Firewire combo cards and had bad luck from kernel panics to slow data rates on the firewire buss when a USB device was plugged in.
