Perhaps this is normal behavior and I'm just being fastidious, but I seem to be seeing a horizontal scroll redraw bug on my DP 2.0/Radeon 9800XT. Perhaps it's because I'm using an old, non-ADC Apple 17" Studio Display (graphite) and the adapter that was included with my G5 (rather than a DVI LCD). Specifically, during horizontal scrolling, a horizontal line momentarily overwrites the image. The color that overwrites the screen is whatever dominant color that's being scrolled. I can only see it when I'm using the horizontal scroll bar slowly - I can't notice it if I'm scrolling fast. I can also see it in games.
Usually what I see is black text in a white window getting drawn over by a white line. I previously thought the redraw was due to my CRT's Trinitron horizontal display wires, because it seems to happen when the image crosses the lines. But it also happens in other regions of the screen, so I don't think that's the only explanation. I really don't have a way to properly describe what I'm seeing. Perhaps the best comparison I can draw is the way credits on a theater projection screen sometimes get distorted when they cross over a flawed region of the screen. I'm not having any other problems, and I can certainly stand to live with this. But if someone can recognize the problem and say it's something that should not be occurring, I would like to know that as well.
