I'm a graphic designer user looking to switch to Mac. I was thinking Powerbook but I really like the new iMac. And also, I'm not sure how often I'll really be carrying the PB around. A lot of the users here seem to think that the graphics card is weak. Is it good enough to run Adobe apps? I won't be doing any gaming.

The video card will make very little difference for design. The new iMac is more then you need and you will be very happy with it.

It is better then a laptop as the slow hard drives really bring photoshop to a crawl.

It'll be plenty. You don't need a super graphics card to do graphic design work, unless it's a lot of hardcore 3d design.

You'll be more than satisfied with it

Absolutely. I'm designing (Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark) on a Powerbook G4 867 and it's ample. The G5 will more than fit your needs, and the large screen will be a joy.
It's the devil's way now.

You should be set!
Though, with such easy access to the new iMac's innards... are the graphics really not upgradeable? They actually soldered the darn thing to the mobo?
Be happy.
