It says on imac.com "From the makers of iPod," this has me confused.. is the iMac a big desktop version of the iPod? Will it play my music like an iPod? I don't see a scroll=wheel on it so will it be as easy to use as iPod?

it works with my PC i assume

sorry if this has been covered.. I can't always search for everything before I post

another question though- does this iPod iMAC play video? I've always wanted to take video with me. if it doesn't I won't buy it. oh and it needs other gimmicky things like an AM radio. I used to like HP but they need to pick up the ball here.. their products are too confusing

Zounds n Gadzooks! If it does in fact support video ... I MIGHT GET ONE ... I assume the 17 inch would make pictures look good .. but if it's like an ipod ... maybe it's to sort songs ... maybe the menu text is alot bigger ... i wonder if it's a color display .. the ipod was rumored to have one ... maybe they meant this ... it's ... it's like a iPOD "plus" ... lol

Steve Jobes said there would be no color iPOD so that means if in theory I wanted to watch gay porn on it, it would have to be in black and white. that's fine, because maybe it will help me figure out if matthew rush (tm) is black or white.

Depends on the color space. For additive color spaces (RGB) black is an absence of color. For subtractive color spaces (CMYK) black is total color. On other words, 100% of R, G and B gets you white, while 100% of C, M, Y and K gets you black.

100% of K is black, 100% of C M Y and K is a big inky mess because you've loaded 4 solid colours onto a print one on top of the other. C=Cyan, M=Magenta, Y=Yellow, K=Black.

From the makers of iPod... THINK. Are they trying to sell existing Mac customers? Of course not, they are already loyal customers that understand the Mac difference. So who could they be targeting? Ummmmm... Uhh.....

PC users! Many a PC user has bought an iPod and I expect that the majority of them have been very pleased with the iPod and iTunes experience. Now Apple is using the popularity of iPod and the positive experiences PC users have had to draw their attention to the core business ... the Mac.

It even looks (sort of) like a giant iPod. Mac users will buy this thing, you can count on that. Ignore the initial reactions you read here, they are almost always wrong. People freaked about the original iPod, too expensive they said for just a "music player". Then they freaked about the iPod mini, "too expensive" they said. Demand continues to outstrip supply for the mini. Many here bitched about the new desktop G5 case, now people adore it.

The iPod themes in design and marketing are clearly targeted at the PC market, as they should be.

Actually, 100% K comes out black but isn't very saturated. 400% (100% C M Y K) is overkill, you don't want to go over 240% total. 100% K 40% C, M, Y makes for a nice, saturated black. not sure if that's what you wanted to hear, though ;-)

white light is the presence of the entire spectrum of visible light.

I can not think of anyhting lamer then trying to make people mad over the internet in forums. Like I don't see what kind of retarted, loser, peice of sh*t gets a thrill out of asking questions about nothing. Most people participate in this site to get help, help others, or have (mostly) intellegent discussions. You, on the other hand with your 80 something screen names sit at your computer all day getting responses from dumba$$ questions. God I envy you...if only I were that cool.

Your literal or scientific explanations of black and white being either no color or all colors is simply wrong.

If you buy black paint what color is it? Black. It is not lacking of all color.

If I ask what color is that piece of paper, one would say white. One would not say "It is all colors".
