Also, while asleep, the fans (after a short period of time) all come on to max power... it's very loud. The blue tooth key board and mouse, as well as my former USB keyboard and mouse will not wake it up... any ideas?

I called Apple Care, I got a call center in India where the guy had a hard time understanding me, and vice verse.. what a pain, I thought Apple Care had American techs... what happened??

Either he found the problem that solved the crash-during-sleep ...

... or he found the secret phone number for Apple's American techs.

The posts could be read either way. I'd like to know too.

Sorry guys.. rude of me..

I didn't hit the notification by email button so I didn't realize you all posted replies..

Anywho...

This new G5 of mine is all but perfect.... it seem to (twice so far) go into a mode where after it goes to sleep, it will not wake up. What it does, is the fans all kick on full bore... which is normal when the sleep mode fails, as a fail safe incase of over heat.

The indian apple tech (who knew less about a Mac, than my 73 year old mom) read out of some script and had me proceed and remove all of my 2.0 GB RAM 1GB at a time, my USB PCI card, my LaCie, my Printer, my iSight.. etc... etc... and to no avail..

I finally hung up with him, called Apple in Cupertino and bitched them out over Apple care going down the drain.. I then was transfered to their Sacramento service center and a nice young AMERICAN tech told me to "RESET THE POWER CONTROLLER" which I did, and BANG! it worked!

So far though, I've had to do this twice.. so I hope Apple has a solution for this problem soon..

Any questions?

Can you request a new one since it has a repeatable flaw?
