I got my new 2.5GHz G5 and all seems to work fine. Before adding the 2GB of RAM and Raptor HD I had sitting here in waiting, I wanted to boot the Apple Hardware Test CD and run it to make sure all was well with the G5 in its original state. So I boot the CD and finally the app comes up but mouse and keyboard are frozen. No movement with mouse and even caps lock light does not illuminate. Booted ad number of times - no dice.

So...all appears fine. But ironically the Hardware Test exhibits a freeze in loading.

Can anyone else with this config run it?

- dual 2.5GHz G5 w/ 512MB
- Bluetooth
- internal modem
- Radeon 9600XT (20" Cinema attached)

...I went ahead and added the mem and the HD since all else seems fine. Just odd. Troubling to a degree...

Were you using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse? The Hardware Test CD may not have bluetooth drivers.

Nay. But the mouse is not the Apple mouse. Other 3-button USB.

Well, that's a revolting development. Sorry to hear about it, original poster. Hardware Test runs fine on my DP 2.0. I would suggest checking out the g5support.com forum to see if anyone else has reported the same issue. A small thing I was wondering about (rippling distortion during scrolling) was widely reported over there but basically unheard of here.
