sellling my ibook later this week in exchange i'm going to be purchasing a new emac. 1.25 ghz and 1 gig of ram. is it possible to run motion on a set up such as this? i'm going to buy the video package with motion and final cut and was wondering if i could use these programs on such a cheap system.

i've been told the only thing holding them back would be the 32 meg video card.

anyone else have this set up?

I'm sure it could handle it, but I doubt you would be travelling at high speeds.

I think it would suck. The video card in the eMac is EVEN SLOWER than the one in the iMac! Amazing!

Because it is not supported by CoreVideo?

The Ti doesn't have the required hardware functions that CoreVideo and CoreImage call for.

As a general rule: if you're looking at Motion, you're looking at one of Apple's current high-end systems (PowerMac or PowerBook) to do it justice. I wouldn't want to run Motion on an eMac even if the requirements said I could!

Motion won't run on an eMac at all, because of the GPU. It is missing specific hardware features required by Motion.

The iMac G5 is capable of running Motion, but most reviews suggest the GPU is too slow for more than light or possibly moderate use in Motion.
