The new iMac G5 uses PC3200 Ram. The old G4 iMac uses PC2700 RAM.

Can I buy PC3200 RAM and put it in my G4 iMac? I wish to do so so that I can transfer the RAM to a G5 iMac in the future.

So my question is: Does PC3200 downclock properly and work in a PC2700 system like PC133 ram works in a PC100 system or do I have to worry about CAS timing and junk?

(Sorry if this question has been asked before. I tried searching but came up with bubkus.)

OK, a page on OWC says that PC3200 CAS3 will work in PC2700 CAS 2.5 system so I guess the answer is yes.
