Hi All

I do alot of Photoshop,Indesign and Golive work and i'd love to use the 20" G5 imac.

With 2 gigs of ram shouldnt that be good enough??

I also will be using Lightwave but I dont do any animation work, just 3d product renders for a company.

Thanks in advance!

btw, I know I could just get a tower BUT i'd rather simplify and do away with towers all together

The iMac should be fine, and 2 gigs is perfect.

I'm currently using an emac for producing a four page colour newspaper (a supplement actually in the newspaper). It is fine to use, and I am often running InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator together with no problems. I think it all depends on speed. I would say go with your budget, speed needs and whatever other major factors. Only you can make the decision!

The iMac with 2GB of RAM will be wonderful for what you're talking about. However, if buying a Powermac wouldn't be a problem financially, then get a Powermac. You'll definitely appreciate the extra performance of the dual processors when you can have a Lightwave render going in the background and continue using Photoshop without any noticeable slow-downs.
