I have tried everything and it appears that when my photosmart 7700 is connected via it's USB cable to my Mac the mac will not wake up from sleep... any one else have this problem? I saw there was a firmware fix on Apple site for the Single processor G5 but this is a dual... any ideas?

Do you have a USB hub? How are your devices connected to the USB ports on your G5? Are the keyboard and mouse plugged directly into the machine?

Basically, try different configurations of USB connections. Your printer may be defective.

I have a MacAlley USB Card, but that's not it.. I've tried plugging and unplugging everything from memory to the USB Card and other Firewire/USB items... I even tried to remove the HP drivers and re-install them... even with no drivers installed, just the act of plugging in the printer via USB to the computer causes it to go narkoleptic. No, it's the printer alright... I got it narrowed down. I will be calling HP monday and try to get a new printer.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any others have had this type of prob with HP on Mac.

Well

It's not the printer, but rather the USB card. I went and tried a different card from Belkin and same thing happened. I think it's G5 related.
