Can't unlock a file!

I think I posted a similar inquiry several months ago, but didn't really get the answer I was looking for. So, Here's my question, again;

I dowloaded a file from Gnutella quite some time ago, and when it was finished downloading, I noticed that the contents of the file were locked. I tried the "file> get info> unlock" method, but that failed! So, I figured I would just delete the file as a whole without messing around with its contents any more than I already had. However, I did something stupid, and unintentionally dragged one of the locked files to my finder. Now, I have this tacky-looking file on the finder, that I CAN NOT delete, or even move, for that matter. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if I could just move it to a mundane location on my computer, so I wouldn't have to see it! But, ultimately, what I's like to accomplish is deleting it completely!

Any help would enormously appreciated!

Ok , you may use sudo to fix this,

the files is probably here /Users/Username/Desktop/(locked file name)

now the terminal is in the utilities folder. Open that up and type this in the command line.

sudo rm /Users/Username/Desktop/(locked file name)

After you do this you will be prompted for your password.
Enter it.

The File should be gone.

You can also just type "sudo rm " and then drag and drop that file from the desktop on the terminal window. The terminal will get the path and file name from it.

I want to thank you all for your help. I downloaded a program caled "Path Finder," and was able to delete the file with absolutely no problem! I tried the Sudo trick a few times, but ceased since I'm not too familiar with terminal commands, and I heard it can majorly screw up your system if you make an error (which i've been known to do!)! As far as i know, my system is fine even after trying the command, but I felt like taking the safer route.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me!
