Can a Pioneer DVR-107D read dual layer disks (8.5 GB) burned with Toast 6.07 burned on a Pioneer DVR-108D?

Anyone got the answer?

Nearly all DVD drives can read dual-layer. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to play 90% of the movies you buy.

The DVR-108 is the first Pioneer to write dual-layer, not read them.

Thanks. That is what I think too. I will confirm today. The dual layer media are expensive--I just paid 1370 yen or about US$12 for one.
Hope the proce drops soon.

Burned two Maxell DVD+R 8.5 GB data discs using Toast 6.07 with no problem and they both played fine on a Matsushita UJDA730 DVD/CDRW drive, a Pioneer DVR-170D and a regular TV DVD player.

Now just got to wait for the price of thee discs to fall to a reasonable level.

Not "nearly all". All. Dual-layer reading is a required part of the DVD standard.
