I have a problem with diskwarrior and my new iMac. When i load the CD and then try to restart from the disk (holding down the c key) it gets as far as the grey screen with the Apple logo, then the logo seems to shift about 2cm to the right as you look at the screen, then nothing other than the fans going around, no spinning cursor. I left it for about ten minutes a couple of times and still nothing.
The disc worked fine in my old G3 iMac and i can open the disc when i just load it but obviously i cant use the program as such as i cant restart from the disc itself.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution?
Wasn't sure if this topic should be here or in the software section so apologies if i got it wrong.

I don't use DW, but I can assure you of one thing: if the CD is bootable, you must get a newer revision of it since an old bootcd cannot be used on recent computers due to differences in hardware.
If it is a OS9 boot cd, the you will never be able to boot that off a G5 iMac.

I have the latest version of DW but have now found a workaround for the problem.
I used carbon copy cloner to make a copy of my internal drive booted into this and i was then able to start up from my external drive and use DW to repair my internal drive.

The problem is that the iMac G5 comes with 10.3.5--that's where the kernel support for the logic board was introduced.
DiskWarrior does not come with a new enough version of the OS yet to boot the iMac G5. This is normal--it's not a problem. For now, you will need to boot from a different drive that does have the latest version of the OS.
