I have a 17inch 1.8 GHz iMac G5 running Panther. When I try to rip a cd in iTunes it gets through most of the way (it says about 1 minute left) and then crashes. It sounds as if the cd drive is thrashing. I tried to rip in different formats and the results are the same.

Is anybody else having this problem? Does anyone know how I could fix it?

Is it just with one CD?

I decided to go through some of my older CDs so I sat down and ripped about 50 into iTunes, no problems at all.

I realized the problem was with the CDs I was ripping. It was a bunch of CDs that were giving me trouble but they all came from the same place. (They were mixed DJ cds). Anyways it was the last track on the CD that was giving the problems. So I ripped the CDs excluding the last track and everything works fine now.
