For some reason, when Im in the finder pane viewing the contents of a folder with a lot of images or files, I can't click the first one and then Shift Click the last one to select all or even part of them at once. Shift click is the same as apple-click...one at a time. Can anyone shed some light on what I may have done wrong to make this happen? Its only been happening lately.

Also, not to be a prick, but questions like these really need to go in the OS X forum since the problem seems to be with OS X itself and is not iMac/eMac specific.

It only happens in finder when I open a folder of images...just weird

Shift clicking only selects a range when you are in list view or column view. In icon view, shift click adds the clicked object to the current selection. What you want to do is click and drag to select multiple files.
