Just got two new iMac G5s (17", 1.6GHz, Combo Drive, 80GB HDD, 1GB RAM) at work and the Photoshop 7.0 disc will not mount. It spins for about 20 seconds then spits it back out. The CD will mount on other machines and physically is fine, no scratches or warping. The iMac also will mount other discs, including the OS install disc. Tried resetting PRAM and booting into safe mode but no dice. Apple tech support seemed as confused by this as I was, enough to "escalate it to Engineering"--which is the first time I've stumped their tech support.

Not really an immediate problem since I installed photoshop via TDM but I was just wondering if anyone else here had noticed the same issue?

I just got my iMac G5 two days ago, 17" G5 1.8 SD, and installed PS yesterday without a hitch. So it sounds like it is something specific to your machines, maybe the lower end one? But that definitely does not sound normal, hopefully tech support will be able to sort it out for you.
