Does anyone have any experiance with a Dual 1GHhz z Powerlogix C CPU?
I have a discarded card that is very unstable on my G4 tower, which supposedly has the uninorth chipset required for a dual upgrade. However the card gets really hot and the fan doesn't cool it sufficiently. Have tried another fan - no better luck. Is there anyway to downclock the card?
Any help appreciated.

When in doubt about CPU upgrade, this is the place to check.

Thanks for the advice. I have already checked the CPU database, in fact, before the CPU was purchased originally. Then after seeing several OK reports we bought that upgrade. It was very unstable in my friends G4 tower AGP but it worked, except in FCP. Then he got a GigaDesigns that really rocks, and I got the lemon. This CPU will not bott up or kernal panics immediately after booting om my machine, which runs solid with a GigaDesigns 800 OC to 900. Something strange is going on because the thing does try to boot, it just won't stay up. I have given up on it so don't bother to reply. It goes in the bottom "Junk" drawerimmediately. Thanks anyway. Everybody., and cheers
