So I just got my 20" iMac and I'm phsyched to get home and fire it up, but..................... I don't know what kind of Firewire cable I'm going to need as far as pin configuration to hook it up to my G4 Tower and start the transfer of everything.

Anybody care to lend a helping hand and clue me in???

Any 6-pin to 6-pin cable will work. Not 6-pin to 4-pin.

in other words a cable with the same side plug on both ends.

I figured 6=6 would be fairly obvious

Plus you can buy 4 to 4 which is the same size on both sides, but will not work for this.

I guess a better description would be the larger sized firewire plug on both sides.

I knew what he meant and got the jist of things. Picked one up on the way home and began the transferring of data once I got home. All is well Thanks guys
