Looking to buy around Christmas. Does anyone expect changes to the available BTO options prior to the Spring? Such as graphics cards options, etc.

The iMac G4 didn't recieve it's first product revision for an entire year, I believe. That is if you don't count the 17" model that was added mid-way.

So you could be waiting a year, it's entirely possible...

My guess the first rev would come in June/July. Not worth waiting for.

Apple can't even keep up with current iMac demand, and I think a 4 week delivery time for a 2 month old product is way too long. There is no way the iMac Rev.B will come out until this current demand slacks off, and that probably won't happen before Easter. As always, if you need it now, buy it now, otherwise you'll always be waiting for the next revision.

It will be more clear when Apple announces or does not announce next revision of PowerBook at Macworld SF in January.

My guess is that if PowerBook does not get a significant update in January (G5 or DualCore G4), iMac won't get any significant update until the fall 2005 (no BTO GPU, either). There is not much technology gap between iMac and PowerBook (or you can say PowerBook is lagging behind iMac in terms of CPU power, and values).

Apple purposedly handicapped the graphic chip on iMac to protect PowerBook sales. No new PowerBook, no new iMac.

We should keep in mind how quickly Apple killed of the early 1.8 single G5 towers.
