I'm after one with native OSX Burn Support as well a iApp support, I just want to plug and play.
I think my Choices are-

SONY DVD RW DW-U10A
PIONEER DVD-R 105/6/7/8

Are there any others, are there any size considerations?
Price is also a big factor for me, and I guess I'm looking for a 8x DVD Burner, possibly even dual layer; has anyone any suggestions/info.

Should I go with a cheap PC DVD burner and use patch-burn to save money?

Just shop around for a reasonably priced Pioneer burner. There are 16x models out now that do 4x dual-layer burning, and they should be fully compatible with OS X. So Pioneer is your best choice if you want maximum ease of use. Some Sony burners may be supported, I'd suggest checking the drive compatibility database at XLR8yourmac.com.

And normally I'd refer you to NewEgg, but they don't ship to the UK so that wouldn't work.

Thnx 4 the reply, I've been looking into the Pioneer DVR-108, will this be plug and play in a G5? (10.3.6) I've heard weird rumours about Apple's own special version of this drive with a unique 117/8 Rom, so I'm not too sure.

I don't know about the DVR-108 specifically, but I know that the DVR-107 I bought a few months ago worked perfectly out of the box. I don't think the DVR-108 would be any different but I'd check the XLR8YourMac.com drive compatibility database just to make sure.

You will need to install Patchburn3 to gain iApps support.
