Ive com to the conclusion it would be better to buy a 1.6 G5 for a few hundred more than a dual g4, first off would this be better and second, can you upgrade the processor such as the g4?

1.6 GHz G5 would be a used machine or a refurb, or else old stock. There are no new 1.6 GHz G5 Power Macs for sale at the Apple Store any more. You can't upgrade the processor either (yet).

A dual G4 might be better depending on what you do. I'd probably take a dual 1.25 over the single 1.6.

Mind you, there are also G5 1.8 iMacs out these days for a good price...

Using my mom's new iMac G5, I'm quite impressed with the performance so far for basic iapps etc... but for expansion an iMac may not have what you need.

Then get at least the dual G5 1.8 with Radeon 9600 XT.
(The iMac G5 can technically handle it, but probably not very well.)
