Power Mac G5 Firmware Updater, June 2004, how do I know if my Dual G5 needs this? I can not remember what month I got it in, plus, that could be off anyway since it may have been sitting in the store a while.
I think it is rather based on manufacturing date, and not on purchase date. In 'about this Mac' then 'more info' you can see in the first screen you get what you current version is. But as suggested by Disgruntled Head of C-3PO, run the software updater, and you'll know right away if you need it.
