Hey guys I purchased my eMac (1.25 G4) about 2 months ago from CompUSA. I turned down the Apple Care offer at the time. Now i'm reading that the eMac still suffers from Analog board problems.

To protect my investment I would like to get the 3 yr extended warranty from Apple. Is it too late? How much time does Apple give in case someone changes their mind and decides on getting the extra protection?

Thanks, for your replies.

You have until the end of the "normal" 1 year warranty to extend AppleCare ... so you needn't worry about it for 10 more months

If you do decide to get it, most Apple Resellers sell it. Retail for an eMac is $169. Can be had for much cheaper by 3rd party vendors. LA Computer sells it for $99

Krusty, if I purchased Apple Care from LA Computer Company will Apple honor my extended warranty in Florida, that's where I live?

Thanks !

AppleCare can be purchased from anyone, doesn't have to be the same place you purchased the computer. That's why some people that register their Macs get phone calls from Apple about 10 months after purchasing it

So, technically Rodster, yes that would work. Except that you live in Florida. Florida has some weird rules about extended warranties. Something like the company that provides the warranty has to be located in the state IIRC.

Your best bet would be to call the Apple Store and ask them if you can buy AppleCare (be sure to mention that you live in Florida) and see what they say. If the answer is yes, thank them and then hang up and order from LA Computer
