My 20" imac g5 is warped. I was feeling to see how hot the upper rear exhaust vent was getting and I notice the plasic on the right bottom side of the vent is distorted. (right behind the area of the superdrive) If I look along the vent I can visibly see the body is warped inwards. Since this area gets the hottest, it leads me to believe it is caused by heat. (though I haven't been running the imac that hot, burned about 6 DVDs, played some games, a bit of editing, otherwise just cool-running word processing, surfing, etc) I guess it could have been like this out of the box, as I just noticed it recently.
Has this happened to any other new imac owners? I hope I'm not at the forefront of some major heat flaws.

Mine was like this on the day it arrived, so it's unlikely to have been caused by the heat of the machine.

In fact that part of the case does not really get very warm.

As we both have the same issue and I have read of others as well, maybe it's just a slight error caused in the process of molding the panel.

They could all be like this.

I can't see the fault, only 'feel' it as I slide my finger along the two sides of the vent.

That's good to hear. It's odd though, cause the warp is quite visible on mine, and it does seem to get hottest in that area. Curious parky, where else did you read discussion on this? Thanks.

In the Apple discussion boards I think.
To be honest I did not think much about it as it does not cause a problem.
