Yes this can be done, but remember that the zip/cd interface is only ATA/16 (or 8 in rev 1 machines) and that, combined with an old, slow drive will make for d o g-s l o w data transfers. but it will work...... I would recommend adding the pci controller and hooking ALL Hd's to it, so they will all get the speed advantage (like I did on my B&W)
One word of caution though, in order for the controller card to recognize the HD's, they have to be reformatted after connecting them, so make back-ups first.......
