I've just compared ram specs for the 2 machines as best as I can, and it would seem very nearly identical. Only real difference I see (and I don't know how critical it is) is the 256mb chip I just took out my new iMac is CL3, where as the 1.25ghz G4 eMac uses CL2.5, which if anything, is faster (I read).
I'd try it if I had a 1.25ghz eMac here, but I don't. A friend of mine wants the 256mb chip I removed from my new iMac to use in their eMac. They are welcome to it, if I know it will work.
Thanks in advance

From the Apple site, Memory for the G4 1.15 eMac is PC2700 (333MHz) DDR SDRAM. The iMac G5 has PC3200 DDR SDRAM. So the G5 memory is faster, notwithstanding th CL3 vs CL2.5. I'd GUESS the 3200 would do fine in a G4 eMac but that's only a guess! Mixing the two different speeds might cause a problem though. As I have no eMac, only a iMac G5, I can't try your memory sticks configuration.

Anyway, if someone else know for sure, I'd be pleased to learn the answer...

Yeah thats about what I figured also..
Anyway, for what this chip would cost, I don't think it's worth the bother. Unless anyone knows for sure its ok.
