I am getting a new iMac G5 in the spring and my son and his wife will get my G4 iMac and will take the pro speakers. I know the subject of speakers has been covered greatly here but I have a different type of question.

I recently bought a set of Altec Lansing 6021s thinking I would use it for the new iMac. Hooked them to my iPod and GameCube and now do not want to remove them from this setup. Just sound so nice! I do not use the computer to play much music cause I mostly use the iPod so speakers for the computer do not really need to be great, just pretty good and better than what comes with the machine. Am thinking about a set of Altec Lansing VS2120s (2.0). I have an iSub for the computer and remember reading that the pro speakers were made to work with the iSub in some way moving the low range to the iSub or something like that.

I know I can get the adaptor and use the pro speakers with the new iMac but want to let my son have them. I am wondering if the Altec Lansing VS2120s will play nice with the iSub and give me decent sound working together?

Yes, actually, the isub will work with anything plugged into the headphone jack

I'm tempted to hack the isub driver so it works (without stripping the low end from the regular speakres) with my klipsch speakers I would have found another use, but I don't really have one, my bro just got his own, and I don't want to put my isub out of service.
