i have one question and i know its wrong but anyways
i was given a chip of 512mb pc2100 ddr ram it is crucial ram but my friend got it from a specialty pc store that wont refund or replace it and it wont work in my g5 cause its pc2100 not pc3200 but even if i wanted to use it i would need a 2nd chip right
well couldn't i buy one pc3200 chip from crucial lie and say they sent me the wrong type and it is incompatible with my g5 then send them my crucial pc2100
and get them to exchange it for a pc3200 chip so then i have 2

Aside from being dishonest, no it wouldn't work, because they track those things by serial number, and they would immediatly know that the pc2100 chip you sent in was an OEM piece sent to a PC store for resale.
