My superdrive died and I'd like to replace it (ideally with a faster drive with similar capabilities). Any suggestions on one that fits correcty internally in a 1.8mhz G5?

Any reason this would not work on my older Dual 1.0 ghz quick silver? Will this stil be "apple" compatable with iDVD, DVD Studio Pro, and the desktop burn feature?

it will work just fine with Patchburn II. in fact, it's the drive Apple actually uses this drive in the PowerMac G5s, but they cripple the firmware. It is a fantastic drive though and I will buy it whenever I can get te cash, but by then It'll probably be on the next generation of drives, so I'll get the then currewnt model.

anyway, yes it will work in a PowerMac G4.
