Trying to troubleshoot this old beast. it's been kernel panicking, and Apple Hardware Test CD found bad RAM. Pulled what appeared to be the bad RAM chip, but it kept panicking at the grey Apple screen. I reset the PRAM a couple times, and now every time I power it up, I get the O/F screen.

FWIW, one time the Hardaware Test CD gave me a logic board error of fire/5/-49993, but I had a Firewire drive hooked up that wasn't powered on. I disconnected it, and no longer get the logic board error. But now, I get this Open Firmware business, with or without FW drives attached.

I reset the CUDA switch, and also did "reset-all" in O/F, but no joy. Am now wiping/re-installing OS X.

Anybody have any thoughts?
