first, Apple came up with a very good concept but has made one very big mistake - no keyboard!!
I think the specs are acceptable, the price is right, but Apple is going to have one big mess not providing a keyboard and a mouse.
The machine is targeted as a second machine or as a replacement for some old PC system. It is going after Wintel users, who might make this choice because they think Apple products are great and easy too use.
To present consumers with a monitorless computer is not a problem they are more or less accustomed and might prefer making their own choice, and save money if they have one already. Still Apple should provide a good choice of monitors because people dont want to go shopping for a system in 2 or 3 places when they have an alternative - the local PC store.
But people will feel far more deceived when they find that they have to spend extra money because either they dont have a keyboard or the one they have doesnt fit with the Mac mini - there are still many computers without a usb keyboard and mouse, many people wont even know the difference before buying their new Mac mini. Apple‘s product image will suffer, no longer will it be a no fuss machine.
And that new keyboard a mouse they buy, probably not from Apple because it would be 60$ extra, will fill all the usb ports on the computer, and then they will find out that they cant print, because, well they cant disconnect the keyboard and mouse.
Most will be puzzled and angry, and not everyone will know about those usb hubs that perform miracles.
so why didnt apple put a keyboard with this guy?

The whole idea of it was to make it a replacement for your average dell or whatever where you just reuse your current kb/mouse/moniter. If you cant understand that quit bitching.

Frankly, I'm sure Apple isn't that concerned.
The Mac mini is designed to get people to look at the Mac platform, which they have overlooked simply because of the price barrier. And the price barrier is a factor when buyers first start looking at a machine, but is less common when it comes to the final purchase of the machine. We've seen it with Dell - they get people to look at their $399 PC and push them up from that to a model that actually works.
I've seen this in action myself: my mother-in-law told me she had a budget of around £500 for a new computer. At the time, I couldn't recommend a Mac because that would have pushed her over budget, which she said she was very strict about. But of course, the irony was that once she had decided on the PC route, she ended up buying a £799 PC because the salesperson said it was better; and she also forked out a wad of notes for anti-virus software which she was told she needed.
Of course, the machine is still a heap of spyware infested shite that she has hardly ever worked up the courage to use, but thanks to the Mini Mac, next time around, I'll be able to push her in the Mac direction. And no doubt due to the Mac mini's limitations, she'll be persuaded upwards, as she was with the PC. But at least this time (i) The Mac won't be dismissed immediately; (ii) she'll get a decent machine at the end of it.

hey guy calm down!! I was just presenting my views. I am a Mac veteran, would not switch for the world.
Apple has a good product here and I wish they can make it better. Apple products are about experience and it is not good if people find it difficult to get them working when they buy. Apple could at least have put an extra usb port. But the keyboard would be ideal because it would be extra value and 2 usb ports too.
these is what regular people think about, and not everyone likes to spend extras on things like these.

Dude you're seriously bitching... a keyboard and mouse is not a big deal. Most Salespeople will take care of that at compUSA. If they want a all in one.. simple.. get the eMac. Apple delivered on what everyone was expecting.
