hi everyone. i'm in a pickle here. i bought a G4 CPU upgrade from Other World Computing last year and after a few months it started randomly rebooting and finally wouldn't start at all. I determined the CPU was fried as the mac was fine when i put the old CPU back in. I sent it back to OWC because it was still under warranty. However they are now refusing to honor the warranty, claiming first I didn't have the original packaging, and later that the heat was un-attached when they received it. The fact remains the CPU is faulty and they do not want to replace it so they are making excuses.
This could have happened to any of us Mac users out there and it's just not right. So here's where I need everyone's help. I want everyone to send a quick email to Benjamin Priest, at
benpriest@macsales.com. Tell him you read about how they are refusing to honor the warranty on a faulty CPU and how you think that is unfair. Tell him until they honor this warranty, you will not shop at OWC / MacSales. Its just not right when companies treat their loyal customers like this.
Thank you in advance for your help and let's hope this will help the mac community as whole.
