How can vaporware be a competitor? This bad boy has been "on its way" for a good solid 3 years.

at the risk of commiting another foopah, perhaps some third party may possibly create the DKM for the mini, maybe even emmulting the appearance or inspiration of the colour classic

Why is the Oqo vaporware? It is available for a few months now, and I think it is an impressive piece of hardware. I would like to see Apple making a full featured PowerBook/PowerTablet like this. There is a similar device from Sony. You can see a review of both here: http://www.ultranote.com/index.php?o...&Itemid=93

I still have my disks... we had them in 8th grade.

Install OS, change disk
Install Program, change disk
Install File to Open....

Those were the days...

It's not even the same type of device for it to compete vs. the Mac Mini. I have an Oqo device and it's great! I also have the Sony U70 and it's also a great device.

I really wish Apple comes out with a Tablet Mac of some sort with a similar form factor as the Oqo. That way I don't have to deal with WinXP! Also the founders of Oqo came from Apple. They were the product designers at Apple! So the Oqo *could* have been an Apple Product, I think.

Apple should buy Oqo and swap out the Transmeta chip with a PowerPC G4 and run OS X... wishful thinking.

I use my Treo 600 with WinHand (http://www.win-hand.com/) to connect to my PC back home. WinHand is a faster client than VNC. Wish there was WinHand for OS X! I wish for lots of things!

indigoimac I STILL want my 9 or 10" iBook or PowerBook, how about BookMini

I think that indigoimac has a interesting point about the BookMini.
You know once Steve Jobs gets on a roll for instance, the "i" in iMac, iBook, iPod, etc...
he goes to town with that whole theme.

So, my point is that eventually this BookMini or, iBook Mini could be a reality.
I know that there could be an offspring of the iPod Photo and, the iBook.
But, just as the Mac Mini could be a thinly disguised home media center, the iPod Photo could evolve into a iPod Video or, A/V or, the other way around with the iBook.

The OQO device looks very cool but it runs the wrong OS and if you want to plug other peripherals in you need this long cable with all sorts of adapters in line.

Originally I heard from somewhere that the founders of OQO were on the team that designed the Titanium Powerbook and they came to Steve Jobs and pitched the idea of this small OQO device and he shot it down so, they left and formed OQO

Well, you really could never tell it was made by the TiBook people, I mean, the styling looks completely different!

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.
